Therapy For Tweens
Online therapy and virtual counseling services for adolescents and tweens in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Vermont
At Raising Vibrance, we believe that tweens don't exist in a tunnel and that encouraging positive communication focused on needs and wants can ensure a better future for the whole family.
Tween therapy should be as vibrant as they are- quirky interests and all.
Being a tween is hard enough, and for most of them it is their first experience in therapy. Raising Vibrance aims to ensure a positive experience- through open communication, creation of a comforting space, and one that is focused on their needs and abilities in the current time. Raising Vibrance specializes in folks who have not had a good experience in therapy, or for those who may be new to therapy. The approach is flexible and catered to fit the needs of the tween, AND to help support the dynamic developing within the family.
Whether you/your tween is struggling with behaviors, strong emotions, identity development, high risk choices, or social situations- Raising Vibrance can help.
How Raising Vibrance Can Help
Identify What’s Up
We love working with tweens (ages 10-12 years old) and helping them “name” and “identify” what feels icky/bad/out of whack. It’s also important to hear from you, the parent, what you think is going on.
Equip Your Tween With Tools
Once we are able to “name” what it is that feels out of whack, misplaced or going on, we work with your tween on providing psycho-education about their body, emotions and how they can begin to regulate their experiences more effectively.
Find Your Wild, Again
You’ve tried traditional therapy and it didn’t work for you, not as much as you would have hoped. Our goal at Raising Vibrance is to help you feel heard, identify what’s going on, giving you the tools you need to succeed so your tween can embrace their own unique brand of wild.
What We’re Really, Really Good At
Therapy for tweens should be just as individualized as they are. Although there are many approaches to treatment, finding a provider who can fit the modality to the teen can be tricky. Raising Vibrance specializes in navigating the complexities of working with teens. The needs, focus and priorities change as fast as they do, and as a teen you need someone who can change gears just as quickly.
Whether you/your teen is struggling with mental health, relationship dynamics, future planning, or high risk behaviors- Raising Vibrance does it all.
How To Get Started With Child Therapy For Tweens
Schedule A Free Consult
We are big believers that therapy is only as good as the good vibes you get between you and your counselor. Get on our calendar, schedule a free consult and Charity will take it from there. If it’s a good fit for the both of us, Charity will walk you through what to expect moving forward.
Commit To The Process
While you may be on board as the parent, your tween may be a bit more hesitant. It can take some time but it’s important that they are “bought in” and not forced into therapy.
Get Your Kid Back To Being A Kid, Again
Whatever you’re going through right now, even though it feels like it may never end or you are afraid of what may come…you’ll find your way and so will your tween. Sometimes we just need a safe place to sort through what life is throwing at us. We got you.
how does child therapy work for tweens?
A fundamental part of Raising Vibrance is the accessibility of care- meaning that no tween should have to sacrifice key life activities to receive treatment. Our office is open nights and weekends, solely tele-health and will accommodate times based on the needs of the tween. Intersession contact is available as well, considering sometimes support is necessary to practice skills being learned during the session. Crises can't be planned- so we are here for that too.
Lets face it- tweens sometimes also just need a space to process and engage in self growth and development. The focus or need does not have to be on mental health.
We want tweens to be able to access services throughout their life- so our first priority is ensuring open communication around goodness of fit, needs, goals and progress as treatment progresses. They are the voice in their sessions- we are the guide. We provide open collaboration with parents and caregivers, as tweens still depend on parents/guardians for support during this time.
